Congratulations to Sophomore G/F Kyle Norton #22 who was selected by the SMAA coaches as a member to the SMAA All-Rookie Team.  Kyle received 7 votes for first team and also 2 votes for Rookie of the Year.   To qualify for this award, you must be either a Freshmen or Sophomore and did not play in six varsity games in the previous season. 

Offensively, Kyle led the Tigers in scoring 10.7 PPG, made the most 3 three pointers with 20, grabbed the second most offensive rebounds, and finished 9th in the league in 3 point shooting percentage at 34%.  The highlight of the season was his fantastic performance against York where scored 27 points leading the Tigers to impressive win over a playoff team.

Defensively, Kyle led the team in steals with 30 and deflections with 16.  He finished 12th in the league in steals.  Kyle was also the team’s second leading defensive rebounder.  Kyle was also tied for second on the team in offensive charges and led the team in defensive stops with 36.  Kyle had the unique ability of winning 50/50 balls. 

Freshmen Carter Edgerton also received two votes for the SMAA All-Rookie team.  Both players will be key contributors to next year’s team.    

Kyle Norton is an explosive player who is at his best in the open court attacking the rim.  Last year, as a freshman on JV, Kyle led the team in offensive charges where he had an unique ability to take on ball charges.  Kyle has been impressive early in preseason with his athleticism and ability to knock down the 3 point shot.  The Tigers will look for Kyle to make an impact off the bench this season.

Best Trait at BHS:  The best trait of Biddeford high school is probably how much pride each and every person has and how much each person cares for each other and helps each other out when something goes wrong. 

Ten years from now… I see myself in college truth to get a degree in engineering or drafting and playing basketball in my free time for either the school or just for fun with random clinics.
